Chrome Barrett was a lecturer, artist and engineer who was the principal lecturer at the North London Polytechnic where he lectured on the history and technology of painting. As an artist he focused primarily on abstract worksbut also painted a number of landscapes and seascapes. Barratt was President of the Royal Institute of Royal painters, a member of the royal society of British artists and also showed at the Royal Academy and a number of international galleries.
